Arrhythmia -Syncope and
Device Clinic
Our Arrhythmia-Syncope and Device Clinic was
established to provide appropriate follow up after the completion of
electrophysiologic procedures and pacemaker/ICD implantation. In
addition to specialized care, we have state-of-the-art equipment that
allows us to provide pacemaker and ICD interrogation and reprogramming
side-by-side with medical management and follow up. In some cases, it
is appropriate for us to provide virtual pacemaker/ICD evaluations,
allowing patients to avoid an actual visit to the office.
Diagnostic tools include 24-hour Holter
monitoring, 30-day continuous digital loop recording, and tilt table
testing for the evaluation of dizziness and fainting spells.
Be assured that the details of diagnostic testing will be
forwarded to your primary care provider in a timely manner.
Background
Arrhythmias are
abnormal heart rhythms. Arrhythmias may be of no clinical significance
when
they occur in the healthy heart, however, they can also indicate serious problems
that
may lead to stroke or sudden cardiac death.
Life-style changes, medications,
device implantation
and electrophysiology interventions are among the treatment
options available to
patients with arrhythmias.
